All About Me

I'm embarking on my own blogging journey to keep a record of what I'm doing as a professional teacher to ensure best practice in my teaching and to achieve the best outcomes for my students. While blogging itself is easy enough, I have been on a steep technology learning curve trying to put this blog and layout together!

I think the 'farmer' metaphor is an accurate reflection of a teacher. Farmers spend an endless amount of time thinking about today, tomorrow, next week, next month and so on -  soil preparation, ploughing, sowing, watering, weeding, trying to counteract all the negatives -  pests, drought, flooding; all with the end goal of cultivation and harvest. I think of my students as always growing, albeit at different rates. The difference being that I don't get to see how they get on when they are older, but I do know that my love, hard work and dedication all contribute to 'growing' them and making a difference.
